Units

  • General Neurology Clinic
  • Sub-departments, (Cerebrovascular disease, Epilepsy, movement disorders, dementia, headache, demyelinating disease)
  • Emergency
  • Intensive care unit

Sub-departments of our unit

Neurophysiology unit: All neurophysiologic examinations necessitating modern neurology can be performed in our unit. Electromyography, Evoked Potentials, Electroencephalography and video monitarization are easily performed in this unit. Thanks to these applications, by diagnosing peripheral nerve diseases, muscle disease, pediatric and adult epilepsy, the treatment of these diseases can be done at high standards.

Epilepsy Sub-unit: Long or short term EEG follow is performable by means of video monitarization. Diagnosis and treatment of pediatric and adult epilepsy can be organized. Furthermore, multidisciplinary work is performed in coordination with our neurosurgery team who are experienced in epilepsy surgery.

Movement Disorders Sub-unit: The application of Botulinum Toxin accompanied by electromyography in the movement disorders such as Dystonia, Blepharospasm and Hemifacial spasm can be performed. Diagnosis and treatment of movement disorders such as Parkinson is possible with this technique. If any surgical procedure is needed, Movement Disorders Sub-Unit works in coordination with our neurosurgery team who is experienced in movement disorders.

Cerebrovascular Diseases Sub-unit: The treatment of blockage of blood vessels in the brain and the treatment of hemorrhagic brain blood vessel diseases are performed in coordination with our neuroradiology unit equipped with state of the art technology; besides our physicians who are experienced in neuroradiology perform carotid stent procedure, invasive methods for arteriovenous malformation (AVM) and thrombolytic treatment in appropriate cases. Computed tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Doppler ultrasonography and Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) are performed in our unit. If endarterectomy procedure is needed, Cerebrovascular Diseases Sub-Unit works in coordination with our cardiovascular surgeons.

Dementia Sub-unit: Neurological and psychiatric examinations, Cognitive tests in coordination with a psychologist, Cerebral Imaging and electroencephalography as well as diagnosis and treatment of these diseases are performed in our unit.

Multiple Sclerosis and Demyelinating Diseases Sub-unit: This unit consists of departments such as neurology and Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Unit in which experienced neurologists, psychiatrists and physiotherapists render services.

Headache & Neck Pain Sub-unit: Differential diagnosis of headache and neck pain is made as well as the follow-up and treatment being organized. If needed, this unit cooperates with Neurosurgery, Algology and Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Departments.

Vertigo Sub-unit: Differential diagnosis of vertigo is made as well as the follow-up and treatment being organized. If needed, detailed tests are performed in Otorhinolaryngology department or patients are followed in coordination with Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Department
